How to master Process Capture and the Process Agent

Last month, we announced that Process Capture is available to all Enterprise customers with AI enabled on their accounts.

If you have ever spent hours interviewing stakeholders just to map out a single standard operating procedure, you know how painful process documentation can be.

But with Process Capture and the Process Agent, that time is cut down from days to seconds. Here’s how to use them together to build robust process diagrams.

1. Record with clarity: When you start a recording to capture a process, treat it as a live walkthrough.

• Speak your logic out loud: Turn on your microphone and explain why you are clicking where you are.
• Highlight decision points: Explicitly call out when a step has multiple outcomes. This narration helps the AI identify where to place decision diamonds.

2. Collaborate with the Process Agent: Once your recording is uploaded, the real magic happens. Instead of just spitting out a generic flowchart, the Process Agent acts as an active consultant. It will ask you follow-up questions to fill in any gaps, focusing on:

• Scope and boundaries: Where does the process officially start and end?
• Approvals and handoffs: Who owns each transition between steps?
• Risks and compliance: Are there specific internal rules or compliance steps that need to be visually highlighted?

Answering these brief prompts ensures your final diagram accurately reflects your actual business logic, rather than just a superficial draft.

3. Polish and refine: Once the Process Agent generates your diagram, it lands on your Lucid canvas alongside the key screenshots from your recording. From here, you can:

• Keep the context: Keep your screenshots linked to individual shapes so new hires or stakeholders can click on a step and immediately see what the UI looks like.
• Format with data: Use conditional formatting to automatically highlight high-risk steps or bottlenecks in red.
