An unlicensed user in my organization has “edit” permissions on a document but can only view and comment. 

Do they need a full license to be able to edit? If so, why does it let me choose “Edit” permissions for them?

Hi ​@cr8josh, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! That is correct, unlicensed users will not be able to edit a document, even with edit permissions granted. They will need a license to edit documents, I apologize for the confusion there.
