Support more process map imports from Promapp into Lucidchart

You may be able to import these process maps as an svg using our add custom shapes functionality. For steps on importing an svg as a custom shape, check out this Help Center article.

There is a lot more to a Promapp diagram than the, “shape” with an SVG.  As I stated in my question, there is a lot of metadata available with the diagram hence the different export types.  While xpdl should import like bpmn, Lucid doesn’t like it.

Certainly, I can import the SVG as a picture, which has the following restrictions:

1. It comes in as one shape, instead of being interpreted as separate shapes in the diagram; (no smarts about the import)
2. There is no text interpretation, so I can’t “update” the diagram ever, it stays a picture
3. I can’t move the shapes around as it’s one shape

Therefore, it’s pretty useless importing a process map from another program into Lucid because it can never be updated again.  Someone will need to replicate the diagram in Lucid for it to be maintained.

I’m guessing that the import process has to go through another tool to make it compatible with Lucid, hence why I’m reaching out to the community for help.

I’d like to be able to import the process diagram from PromApp with it’s individual objects/boxes and text fields into Lucid so I can keep diagrams up to date and link them into corporate applications for maintenance.

PromApp allows you to define imports or starting triggers for a process along with exports.  Each item can have a resource allocated to it along with a unit price.  That way you can estimate a proce4ss cost to the organisation.

This would the metadata that I’m talking about.
