Support Lucid documents ignoring ctrl+s

Related products:Lucid Suite

Every program uses Ctrl+s for save and my fingers have learned to hit it after every major change, because that’s what I do in every program I use, except now Lucid, which brings up a dialog and that dialog doesn’t even respond to the escape key, so I have to stop and go grab my mouse to put it away.  Argh!  What’s wrong with ctrl+shift+s or anything else.  I know I don’t have to hit save in Lucid, but that’s just not the way I work, I hit ctrl+s.

Hi @sgartner, thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! Unfortunately, selecting ctrl + s to save isn’t currently supported in Lucid. Instead, your Lucid documents save automatically when you’re online. But we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. I can certainly understand why this is important to you.

I’ve converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

I also strongly argues that even Lucidchart automatically save changes, it should not override the Command+S shortcut. Muscle memory drives me to hit it frequently, but the sharing window pop up and interrupt my thought flow, because I need to manually close it everytime. You might want to promote the strong sharing feature of Lucid by overriding that shortcut to Sharing, but why force users to change their habit? Apple could change the user habits because they have the entire ecosystem. Lucid doesn’t, and this only drives me to leave for another drawing app that is more aligned with my habit.

Where are we with this. I encounter this “Share” dialog about every few minutes because Ctrl+S is so ingrained in me from … every application in the world.

It’s so tiresome right now
