I want to create and share a read-only version of a document with a clear revision number with my team, ie create a controlled document. So I’d like to edit it, then mark read-only and share the “final” version or revision. The document should clearly show the revision number and that it’s a “released” or read-only version. Think of this like a Git tag or a Sharepoint document revision number. I’d like this to be supported in three ways:

  • document revision number that can be clearly displayed in the document, like in a “revision block” showing the title, author and revision number, and the revision number should automatically update. Could you add this as a template shape that I can drop in to diagrams please? Use case here is that when I export a diagram from lucidchart I want to know what version it is.
  • document revision number that’s clearly displayed when you go to view/edit a document in lucidchart. Use case here is that when I go to view a diagram in lucidchart I want to know what version it is, and if I’m looking at an old version. I know I can make named revisions in the histooy but this feature is kind of hidden
  • mark whether a document is draft / in review / approved. You already have this feature but without a visible revision number or revision date it’s difficult to see what version I’m looking at and whether it’s up to date: is it V1, V2, or V3?
