Hello community,

we are successfully syncing a dynamic table in Lucidspark with Jira by using a JQL query. Unfortunately an “ORDER BY” clause in the query does not have any effect on the visualization in the table. Of course we can rearragnge items in the table manually but then we would not be fully in sync with Jira anymore. Is there any way how we can

  • enable that items in a dynamic table are actually orderd like in the result of the JQL query or
  • order rows in a dynamic table by one of the field of the underlying jira issues?

Our Usecase is something like a representation of an ordered/prioritzed backlog.

Hi @Simson,

I spoke with our internal Jira cards team and unfortunately this isn’t currently supported in Lucid. We’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience within this thread.

I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

Hi @Simson,

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community!

The most efficient way to organize your dynamic table by using Jira fields is to Set your rows and columns. (see screenshots below)

Click “Set row” and pick the specific Jira field you want shown in the rows on your dynamic table. Once you Set the row to this specific field, it will automatically adjust the table based off the fields in your Jira cards.

Click “Set column” and pick the specific Jira field you want shown in the columns on your dynamic table. Once you Set the column to this specific field, it will automatically adjust the table based off the fields in your Jira cards.

Please view this Gif below for a brief tutorial.

*Note: When you select “Set column” you can hover over “More Jira fields” to view more fields.

This help center article is very helpful when formatting your Dynamic table. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Hey @alison cheney,

thanks for your input. This is what I acutally already do. But is there any way to get a specific order of the rows besides using manual drag&drop? In your example I’d like to add “ORDER BY PRIORITY ASC” to my JQL query and want to see the rows in this order - but in fact it does not change anything. And also in the row settings of the dynamic table I can only see an option for filtering but not ordering/sorting.

Or did I miss anything obvious?

Hi @Simson,

Thanks for your response!

I’ve reached out to our internal Jira Cards team to confirm the use of the “ORDER BY” clause in the JQL query to reorder cards in a dynamic table. I will update you in this thread as soon as I hear back from them.

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

I want to underline the need of this feature. For me, sorting a table by specific attributes like rank or other jira fields is essentiell.

We use the dynamic table function to organize our backlog meetings. In jira we use the jira fild priority to sort our backlog. Also we use in our discovery process a custome jira field “score” to sort the most important ideas which are coming up. So it would be very helpful to have this feature.
