I’m using Chrome to access Lucidchart. However, for some reasons, I cannot see the top menu bar, i.e. the File|Edit|Select|View|…  I believed it was there before. Any idea how can I get it bac? Thanks!

Tossing my vote in for team “this has only made things more difficult”.

I can understand on different platforms you may want this, but on a desktop all it does is require users to make more clicks and navigate dropdowns to get to where we want to go.

Please bring back the old menus or at least implement a toggle-able setting for menu style, we know you can deliver this type of functional menu experience as you had it in the past!

I use (or rather I formerly used) the small shape attributes box (forgot what it was called--it’s no longer there) showing size, location, shadow, etc.) frequently. I often pinned it for easy access. Now the only way to get these functions is to open the huge Properties bar on the right. This is not only hard to use (shadow is in a sub-menu, and has lost the ability to edit shadow color and angle), but it consumes a large percentage of the workspace.

As someone noted,  Lucidspark works great for free flowing thoughts, brain storming, project planning.  Lucidchart is great for those people creating detailed diagrams. You’ve made Lucidchart harder to use.

Please allow us to revert to the original small single-line toolbar.

Hiding the file menu under the hamburger stack is an unnecessary inefficiency IMO,…. I’ve had to show multiple frustrated users and hear their similar complaints.

How does burying the top menu bar improve our user experience?

A lot.

Hi,

New user here. Fired up the first video in the Training Labs and was stumped for 10 minutes because it shows a menu bar that no longer exists in the UI.

I don’t know whether I would prefer the old style or the new one (given my longevity in the industry probably the old one) but changing it without updating your learning tools, at least to the extent of adding a note at the beginning, is certainly not helpful.

Welcome to the Lucid community @Paul H, happy to have you here!

Thanks so much for this feedback, I would love to share this with our Training Labs team.

Would you mind letting me know which video you were watching? I saw you mentioned it was the first video you watched, was it the fundamentals or something else?

This community is dedicated to supporting your work in Lucid's products. If other product questions arise, you can create a new topic and we’d be happy to help!

Hi @Ambar D ,

Thanks for your comments.

The course was Lucid Fundamentals, Basics in Lucidchart

I did re-run the first couple of lessons in case I have missed something but I’m fairy sure that the change to the menu is not called out.

Unfortunately I’m instantly triggered by UI changes. More unfortunately it wasn’t obvious to me that the burger menu had been added. I proceeded to perform a fruitless search for the “switch” to turn the menu bar back on, whilst wondering how it was that it had been turned off. I would say that is doesn’t help that there is no tooltip on the burger and that the first few items on the drop-down do not correspond to the previous menu headers, so I think I even opened it once and didn’t catch on that was where the menus had moved to.
