I agree with general feedback here.  Menu’s have worked well as a UI paradigm for 30+ years.  Removiing them for some percieved UI-cleanliness or spurious product alignment reason is short sighted and non-user centric.

Its added 1 additional click for every “menu journey” and Im shocked and stunned it passed UX acceptance testing.  It also increases the learning curve for those of us who dont spend every day in Lucid as the rest of the world rightly uses menus so we dip into Lucid once a week/month we take a productivity hit and have to retrain our muscle memory.

Its also really bizzare product choice to allow your niche product to drive the UI design of your flagship product.

Either undo the change or make the hamburger vs menu bar a user configurable option.

Hi @GCoale, thank you for this thoughtful and detailed feedback on the new menu.

I can understand how your workflow may be impacted, and I appreciate the time you took to leave details in this thread.

Not only is it an extra click, it’s a difficult one. For example, I do a lot of things with the arrange menu. I have to select it, then move to the right to get to the options. I often slide off of arrange and pull up the menu above or below it, forcing me to restart. It has seriously slowed me down.

Why would you change a core feature location and functionality without providing an option for users to undo the change?  Even Google provides this function with Gmail changes.

Please restore the ability to have menubar options layed out horizontally across the screen.  People who use these features frequently do not want to be bother by having to click through layers of menus to get to what they want every time they go to use a function.

Always remember to provide customers as much customization ability as possible so they can set things up in the way that works best for them.

Oh My!!! Nothing like increasing our work load! PLEASE bring back the menu bar. Even providing hot keys for ALL items is NOT good enough. Hands can be busy and break the flow. Just like having to click on the hamburger and scroll and click and scroll. Please make the Menu Bar optional to be turned ON as it was. Plus, I don't know what Lucidspark is. I don’t want to know.

Tossing my vote in for team “this has only made things more difficult”.

I can understand on different platforms you may want this, but on a desktop all it does is require users to make more clicks and navigate dropdowns to get to where we want to go.

Please bring back the old menus or at least implement a toggle-able setting for menu style, we know you can deliver this type of functional menu experience as you had it in the past!

Hiding the file menu under the hamburger stack is an unnecessary inefficiency IMO,…. Unless you don’t want users to use your product. I’ve had to show multiple frustrated users and hear their similar complaints.
