Disable contextual panel from displaying in Lucid

That is indeed the behavior I am observing.

It just seems like swimlanes are treated differently than all the other objects in relation to when the sidebar pops out.  If I hide it, IMO it would be more consistent UX if it stayed hidden for all objects.

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with the contextual menu for "Rectangle Container" elements. When I click on a rectangle container, the contextual menu automatically opens—which is expected. However, even after manually closing it, the menu reopens every time I click off the container and then click back on it. This behavior is disruptive, especially when working with large diagrams or at certain zoom levels, as the menu takes up valuable screen space and can cause the diagram view to shift unexpectedly. It would be much more user-friendly if the menu remained closed unless explicitly reopened by the user.

Lucid has known about this feature (intended bug) for years. At this point you should just tell your customers the truth. Their feedback will not be considered - at all!

Just so all the people on the thread know, you can disable this by disabling the specific element in th browser. The workaround has been posted somehwhere on one of these threads. This workaround fixes the bug that Lucid loves.

While this specific feature about completely disabling the contextual panel from popping up is not currently supported, you are correct that there is a workaround and I apologize for not providing it readily in this thread. 

To temporarily hide all panels (including the contextual panel), you can use the "Fullscreen" button in the bottom-right corner of the editor. This will give you a larger canvas for working, allowing you to click elements without the contextual panel automatically popping up. You can still access the panels by clicking on the gray arrows that appear in this view.

Extremely annoying like the this feature, it’s been three years, when will this be addressed by Lucid Product team?

I am using Lucid via Google Chrome Version 143.0.7499.170 (Official Build) (arm64) on Macbook pro M3 chip.

This is super annoying. It wasn’t like that until a few weeks or 1 month max.

Please give us the ability to disable this intrusive panel that I never use.
