I used to be able to use LucidChart via Mac’s web app functionality and have it on my dock as a standalone “app”. However something changed and now I’m unable to use the web app because it cannot get past the login flow without switching over to Safari. Even after completing the log in on safari and trying to open the page in the LucidChart web app, it continues to display the login page. Please fix this, it used to work

I used Webcatalog (https://desktop.webcatalog.io/en/download/windows) to install a desktop version of Lucid(charts).

AGREE!, Desktop version feels more “safe” than a cloud

Hey everyone, we really appreciate the strong interest in this feature! It's fantastic to see how passionate you are about making our products even better. We want to be transparent and let you know that while we understand the value this would bring, it's not currently prioritized on our immediate roadmap. We do value your input and will continue to consider it for future planning.

I have seen many people asking here and in other forums about Lucid Chart and a desktop app version.  So far the responses have been but its browser based and therefore not needed.

No.  That's incorrect.

People who use softwares tend to like having a clickable icon on the desktop of their computers - and secondly not have a cluttered environment with other distractions such as opened tabs pinging messages and popups and updates also distracting the user experience.

There are many BROWSER BASED platforms but they also have a dedicated desktop app that looks and feels like using offline software.

The user experience is much much cleaner as well.

Can Lucid just get their head around the concept that many want a dedicated desktop experience that can integrate into eg. google drive drop box or local machine?  But sure have the functions interact with the web -

These are pretty much browsers in their own right - but for the points above - mentioned eg. clutter free dedicated etc - thats all you need.

Look at your competitors or other software's e.g.. Miro has a desktop app.  so do many others.

i love desktop apps, reason is to maximize a workspaces for small screens such as 13inch laptops. desktop versions should be clean thin frames like a Macbook’s frameless window.

Just another point for Miro.

Lucid has made a lot of progress by simply copying Miro — maybe they’ll do the same on this one.

i think the key feature here is the ability to work offline or when connectivity is limited/unstable (for example whilst on a train in the UK!).  Similar to how M365 apps now work with “autosave” working in the background but the file being sync’d to a local cache or copy.

I have Figma as well, and while I clearly prefer Lucid, their desktop app is great. I can keep it open and available in my tool bar, ready to reference or make adjustments as I learn more in various conversations.

I want to do this with Lucid. I want to have it in my tool bar and easy to locate, not lost in a see of tabs. I also want to be able to edit offline, as someone said in another comment - great for on the train or in the air when wifi isn’t working.

So many other aspects of Lucid are thoughtfully built out and make everything easier. This seems like an obvious one to keep up with competitors.
