Thanks for posting on the community! If you do not see the icons that you wish to use you can upload custom icons to your Lucidchart document. 

To learn how to import shapes and icons take a look at the Import Shapes article in our Help Center.

If you are using Conditional formatting you can upload a custom shape while making the rule (see screenshot below).

Is there any way to add icons directly to the Icon dialog??

I would like to be able to add more icons to the highlighted area to insure that I get all of the capabilities of placing the icon and altering the color. Currently the icons are pretty limited.

Thank you for clarifying! Unfortunately there is not currently a way to add icons to that selection. As a work around I would recommend the options outlined above of either importing shapes or importing icons (if using Conditional Formatting) as they were explain by Clara.

I would like to see the ability to add custom Icons to the Icon set as well. I submitted a Feature Request Form.

This feature would be specially useful on product development on cross platform capable products since it will greatly help the ability to visualize the platforms a given product in your offerings will be supported by which platforms that you work with.

Thank you all for your request and patience as we continue to make Lucidchart the best it can be for all of you! Although within the specific icon sets menu it is still not possible to add custom icons I wanted to share that it is possible to add a custom icon when utilizing our conditional formatting feature. As seen in the screenshot below you can create a rule and upload an icon that you would like to use. I would like to note that you will need to click Save before the uploaded icon will appear.

Yes we need this feature too but the conditional formatting route does not solve it.

Thank you for keeping this thread going! Although it is true adding custom icons is not a native feature there is a way to fill shapes with images. I know this is not a perfect solution however I thought it might fit the bill for some. Here's a quick view of what this might look like:

I see -- we definitely want you to submit a feature request form to us as this seems like it's important to your workflow however I have logged your request as well to forward along to our dev team to get some traction. We take these requests very seriously and always want to listen to what is most important functionality for our user base.

I've submitted a feature request for the same thing. Having the ability to add an icon to a step to indicate the type is something that would be useful (and is causing issues in our current project as we have no way of doing this from reading this thread). I've added a screenshot showing what it looks like in another platform. The example I have is to show a step is manual and adds the hand icon. Here you can right-click and select the type (e.g. manual = hand icon automated = system cogs icon email = envelope icon etc.) and it makes it neat and clear to the viewer/reader what that means.
