The permissions in Lucid has one limitation which if over come, would be very valuable. To give the user permission to show/hide layers however not allow them to edit to diagram would make it possible for those users who have to view a complex diagram to break it down into smaller “bite size” pieces. Viewers today can only see what the editor(s) allow them to see which can be a large and complex diagram. If the viewer has the ability to toggle the layers as the editor has created them, it would help with the complexity of diagrams and make the diagrams more interactive without allowing changes.
