Currently i can add key items using color and in use shapes however the in use shapes do not cover the arrows used in diagram . In my diagram i use different types of arrows each arrow has a different meaning , i wanted to use the arrows in diagram key

Hey @Alok -- Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! This sounds like a great idea, would you mind posting here so our devs can see this suggestion?

Thanks so much for your idea -- keep them coming!

Sure i have done that !

Thanks, @Alok!

Has this been updated yet? I have the same issue

@Phillip W

Hi @DevM, would you mind describing what you are hoping to accomplish or the problem you’re encountering in more detail? Would you mind providing me with any relevant screenshots so I can take a closer look?

Are you working with diagram keys in Lucid? I would recommend reviewing the Add a diagram key in Lucidchart article to get an understanding of the functionality.

I agree with @DevM! I would like the same functionality in the diagram key. Right now, you can’t add arrows to the key but for my process flow, the arrows are what I’ve color coded to represent different processes. I can use the colors of the arrows in the diagram key but I run into an issue where I have also used other shapes with other colors - I have no way of differentiating an arrow color vs. another shape’s color. So I would like to show a rectangle with certain color and also arrows with certain colors - and also arrows that are pointing right vs arrows that are pointing left. This functionality obviously exists within creating the chart but can’t currently be added to the key. Please help!

Hi @KamNicDev, thanks for adding to this thread! Diagram keys can include colors as you mentioned and basic shapes—including flowchart shapes, mind map shapes, and sticky notes. However, not all shapes are supported, and unfortunately, adding lines and arrows to diagram keys is not currently supported.

We’re very interested in your feedback here and committed to continually improving our products. I’ve converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

@KamNicDev I would still like to do all I can to help you continue your work!

As a workaround to adding lines to diagram keys, one suggestion is to create your own key using a regular rectangle shape, adding your lines/shapes/colors, and then adding labels. You can then group the items together and easily move where you’d like on your diagram. While this is not ideal, and you will loose some functionality available in diagram keys, this might be a helpful workaround. Please let me know if you have any trouble with this or any additional questions!
