The flex polygo tool is great for making a nice arrow shape like this:

Straight arrow

What I’d like to be able to do is turn this into a surved arrow, like these:

0_0?a=607&x=1030&y=215&w=655&h=543&store=1&accept=image%2F*&auth=LCA%20e0fcaaf32f5e6fa0df395c8ad90db2b30f82073abadbc0da0486b1212e9fceb3-ts%3D1717422099

I had to do this in powerpoint (no rounded corners) as I couldn’t see how to bend one face in a shape.

Any ideas please, anyone?

Hi @Iain Saker, thank you for posting in the community! Unfortunately, this is not currently supported in Lucid but we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products.

We have seen other users request a similar feature, would you mind upvoting this following post and share any additional details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience?

Thanks @Leianne C - much appreciated.

I use quick diagrams a lot to explain ideas or processes and, naturally, many of them include cycles and feedback loops. Not all of this is effectively displayed with a single line - it’s better to use a whole 2D shape.

I think the requirement is to be able to bend any side of the flex polygon. A ‘handle’ on the side, that allows you to drag it into an even curve would be great. A handle that allows to also adjust the bias of the curve would be even better - but may not be essential.

Visio does these things already, but it is expensive and actually not quite as elegant as Lucid chart. On this occasion, I had to go back to Visio online to make the shape. It worked, but not quite as nicely, in my view.

It would be great to hear if you there are plans to develop lucidchart further and when this feature might be made available. Ciould you please let us know?

Thanks :)

Thank you for sharing the additional details, @Iain Saker - this is so valuable!

While I’m not able to share any timeline for this request, I’ve gone ahead and converted this post into an idea post so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, however, we are not able to implement every request. Our decision making process is complex as some ideas might have technical dependencies we need to address before the requests can be implemented. While the Community consistently captures excellent and well-thought-out ideas, there are also instances where the time investment to implement a particular idea may outweigh its potential impact.
