Tired of asking an AI assistant to build a diagram, only to get a generic box when you explicitly needed a BPMN start event or a specific AWS architecture icon? We hear you and are excited to share with you a new upgrade to the Lucid MCP server — advanced shape discovery tools.

With this update, your connected AI assistants no longer have to guess what shapes are available. They can now inspect Lucid’s actual shape libraries in real time to build precise, valid diagrams on the first try.

What’s New?

We’ve added two powerful new capabilities to our MCP server:

  • Deep shape library browsing: Allows your AI assistant to search and browse our entire visual catalog—down to specific shape groups and individual shapes.
  • Exact shape property inspection: Gives AI access to edit a shape's default size, colors, and other properties before it even drops it onto the canvas

Value & Benefits

These new shape discovery tools for the Lucid MCP server eliminate AI guessing and hallucination by allowing assistants to pull real, valid shapes directly from Lucid’s catalogs in real time. This update provides full visibility for complex diagramming needs like UML, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and BPMN workflows.
