As of version 1.15.0 for Lucidchart for SharePoint, Lucidspark for SharePoint, and Lucidscale for SharePoint, SharePoint administrators may need to perform a clean install, which requires deleting any existing app registrations from previously installed versions.

In the steps below, we will be using Lucidchart for SharePoint as our example, but the same steps apply to Lucidspark for SharePoint and Lucidscale for SharePoint.

Note that you must be an administrator for Azure Active Directory and your SharePoint tenant in order to complete these steps.

  1. Go to this URL: https://{tenant-name}.sharepoint.com/sites/appcatalog/_layouts/15/tenantAppCatalog.aspx/manageApps
    1. Replace {tenant-name} with your tenant name, eg., https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/appcatalog/_layouts/15/tenantAppCatalog.aspx/manageApps
  2. Uninstall Lucidchart for SharePoint by clicking Delete in the option bar that appears when you select the app.AD_4nXcXHgt2mKjIiOY9QOmtgUuI_01fgv0KQY3GvdZL9qZj_d-kINXHlHLfF3w9w59ZqxDe4_YmDR927T8d35frd6Acbi4synkCJqX3dNcf3IKwEsXTZ-25_e0LB0I0oy3gv0v_6NTfeg?key=EW7rMIJztU1aEiJ50tRsu_dS
  3. Go to your tenant’s app registration portal by opening this URL
  4. Click on the “All applications” tab and search for Lucidchart for SharePoint. AD_4nXcAm3fFu0s9kvzcOe8v87tVaNie6FF0OFMix_Zm7T4BcfALJqbV-2m2LSYPz5m4h-qYzgMkTYjxefU0xaomQzLqHxr65S0eCA8149lZkDYvoLB27_AZloEYHVjNxtvXf2Hc_c5GyA?key=EW7rMIJztU1aEiJ50tRsu_dS
  5. Click on the search result to open an App registration page for that result.
  6. Delete the app registration by clicking Delete in the option bar.AD_4nXeU9T2SoAtQZQ8GtsBteH8NsyCZE1Ay4HGxUS_RoShSSWsznmPIrg375BDfDmdZ1hPoWflJm6DGwzqikWECu7T6Rg6KQXEIs5jemmH_RXgwIeq93iDK8BGBuGxHu_ZlPYPJrk-WBg?key=EW7rMIJztU1aEiJ50tRsu_dS
  7. Go to your tenant’s Enterprise Applications page by opening this URL:
    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_AAD_IAM/StartboardApplicationsMenuBlade/~/AppAppsPreview/menuId
  8. Click on “Lucidchart Diagrams for SharePoint AAD.”

    1. For Lucidspark, this will be called “Lucidspark Boards for SharePoint AAD.”

    2. For Lucidscale, this will be called “Lucidscale Models for SharePoint AAD.”

  10. Wait two minutes before proceeding to the next step.
  11. Go to your tenant’s SharePoint web part store by going to this URL: https://{tenant-name}.sharepoint.com/sites/appcatalog/_layouts/15/appStore.aspx/sharePointStore?sorting=1&filterParam=%5B%22SharePointWebPart%22%5D
  12. Head to our app link on the SharePoint web part store. Like before, you’ll need to replace {tenant-name} in these URLs:
    1. Lucidchart for SharePoint: https://{tenant-name}.sharepoint.com/sites/appcatalog/_layouts/15/appStore.aspx/appDetail/WA200004644
    2. Lucidspark for SharePoint: https://{tenant-name}.sharepoint.com/sites/appcatalog/_layouts/15/appStore.aspx/appDetail/WA200004832
  13. Click Add to Apps site to reinstall the web part.
  14. In the pop-up that appears, under “App Availability” select: Enable this app and add it to all sites.

  15. You’ll see another popup saying that the app requires administrator approval for permissions. Click OK.
  16. To enable these permissions, go to your tenant’s API access permissions page (again, replace {tenant-name): https://{tenant-name}-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/AdminHome.aspx#/webApiPermissionManagement
  17. Approve any pending organization-wide permissions tied to our newly added app. You likely already have Microsoft Graph’s User.Read already approved, but you’ll need to approve access_as_user:

  18. Your app is now updated to the latest version!

If you encounter any issues during these steps, comment in this thread for further assistance. If applicable, please include any error messages you are seeing.

Troubleshooting

I need help connecting my Lucid account.

Sometimes, after performing a clean install, you may need to reconnect a Lucid admin account to the web part. If you need to do this, you’ll encounter this notification page when attempting to add a Lucid web part to your page:
AD_4nXdz3DJa3gnqkPQO-80H1jMJIIIYvho9WOOnBKvJfbqOmR6cNaGUIeX5cc05WZu9jNJrsiJ3DI4iEHoH4TZCcjtpet2sFyMyhiRo_jDHNYZiLp-wGhjjxV894x6jkFuOBVXs0y53lA?key=EW7rMIJztU1aEiJ50tRsu_dS

If you’re having trouble after clicking the button above, please note that in order to complete this step, you must be an administrator for your Lucid account.

The web part indefinitely shows a “Loading diagram…” state.

In most cases, this can be solved by performing another clean install. If this doesn’t work, please take a screenshot of your console in your browser’s dev tools and share this in the thread. You can open your console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J (if your computer is a Windows/Linux) OR Cmd+Opt+J (if your computer is a Mac).

After performing a clean install, I’ve lost the Lucidchart document(s) I originally added to my page.

In rare cases, a SharePoint web part’s properties may be automatically flushed after a clean install. In these cases, this web part will no longer be tied to any previously selected Lucid board or document. When this occurs, your web part will automatically redirect you to the document picker for your Lucid account.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If this is happening frequently, please reach out to Lucid Support for assistance.
