Hi,

I’m currently evaluating Lucid Chart for use with the organization I work for. There is a need to restrict access so that only internal resources can view documents. Is it possible to do this without every individual having a license?

You can share documents via a link with anyone. I just want to understand if there is a way to restrict this to just people within my organization. If the only option is to have a license for everyone then it will potentially become cost prohibitive to use this solution.

Any information would be much appriciated.

Regards,

Nick

Hi @Nick Penno, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! I’ll be happy to help.

Yes, it is possible to restrict document sharing outside of the organisation’s Lucid account, and these advanced sharing settings are available on an Enterprise subscription. The possibilities are the following:

  • Grant users the ability to generate a share link that will only be accessible for other users on the account.
  • Restrict to certain domains when sharing an item via email
  • Set document ownership to only be transferred among those on your Enterprise account

Furthermore, limited-access users on an Enterprise account (unlicensed users) can view, comment on, and share documents.

For more information about the above, I recommend going through the following Help Center articles:

I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Cheers!

Thanks for the response. I was missing the part where you could add unlicensed users to the account.

I’m still playing around with settings but I think I can et everything I am after.

Regards,

Nick
