How to calculate the associate type = Ent people’s number in Lucidchart dashboard?

Hi @ivy !

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community.

Here is a link to our Help Center documentation on Org Charts. For calculating associate number and type on your Org Chart, you are able to select your chart and toggle on and off which data fields you would like displayed. If you would like to customize even further, I would suggest reviewing this section of the above article on customizing and filtering your Org Chart.

Please let me know if you have a more specific request, I’m happy to help!

Hi Hannah,

Thanks a lot for your reply!

Maybe I didn’t clearly say my question.

There’s a dashboard in the org chart, and I want to use formula to calculate the associate type = Enterprise employees number.

ie: there are total 10 employees, and 4 or them associate type is Enterprise, so the formula calculate will show 4.

May I ask how to type the formula? I tried {{=page.'total Enterprise'}} this formula doesn’t work.

Hi @ivy !

Thank you for following up and clarifying. Though I do not have access to this document or the data, this section of the Org Charts documentation outlines how to use formulas to organize your data.

Using the below example, you can input your data values to calculate totals from your Org Chart.

  • =countif(descendants(page), AND(this.'Location' = 'US',this.'Department' = 'Support' ))

Here is some additional in-depth information regarding the different formulas you can utilize in Lucidchart. If this documentation does not help with what you are trying to achieve here, would you mind filling out this form with the URL to your document so we can take a closer look at your document via private thread?

Hope this helps!

Hi Hannah,

Thank you so much for your detailed replies and the formula can work.

But I met another question is, we use the google sheet link to create the Org chart. In the google sheet, we have a column name: “Associate type”, but when we import data, we can’t successfully import the “Associate type” data here(shows in the screenshot).

Sorry the information is confidential so I can’t share this with you. I'm sorry to complicate your work.

May I ask how to fix this problem? Much appreciated!

Hi @ivy !

Thank you for following up. Can you please try linking your Sheet in a private or incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? Could you also try connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)? Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility. For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post (in English).

If those don’t resolve the problem, can you please fill out this form so our Support Team can take a closer look?

Thank you!

Hi Hannah,

Thank you for your detailed information!

May I ask if we can use the live google sheet to create the Org Chart? And when we add a new employee in the google sheet, the Org chart can refresh and add the people in the chart?

As shown in the screenshot, I found that we can use the icon in the red box to make the Org Chart, but I don’t know how to link the google sheet with this. And for the blue box, this data linking can refresh but I don’t know how to create Org chart through this.

May I ask we only use the red box to make an Org chart? And if we want to add person we need to add the new employee manually?

Hi Hannah,

Now I can refresh all the google sheet and Org chart can update synchronously.

Thank you so much for your big help!!!  :)
