Issue with ServiceNow Integration for Diagramming
We have set up the integration with ServiceNow so we can generate diagrams from ServiceNow in Lucid. I am the admin in Lucid and everything works fine for me. For others, they can create the diagrams, yet not access them in Lucid. Their security is Lucid is adequate to create and edit diagrams, so this appears to be an OAuth issue (maybe). We reached out to ServiceNow and this is what they provided:
Thank you for switching the credential to Personal and for sending the message your other users see.
We asked for Personal so each user's diagrams belong to that user. With Personal, the Create Diagram flow calls Lucid with the token of the user who starts it, so the diagram is created in that user's own Lucid account and they can edit it. Each user gets that token once, through the authorization link on the Create Diagram window, which "generate[s] an authentication token and fetch[es] your Lucid folders" (Create a Lucidchart diagram for a business application).
The change works for the user who has authorized. Lucid Spoke Credential has been Personal since September 24, and the personal authorization list holds one token, created after the change. The other users never complete the authorization, so they have no token and Lucid rejects their requests. The Lucid folder requests since then split along that line:
| User | Request | Result |
| The user who authorized | GET /folders/root/contents | status=200, folder list returned |
| Users with no authorization | GET /folders/root/contents | status=401 {"code":"unauthorized","message":"Missing or invalid access token"} |
"This OAuth2 client is not available" is Lucid's response to that authorization. Every user authorizes through the same credential and the same OAuth client, which a Lucid admin creates in your Lucid account (Create OAuth 2.0 Client in Lucidchart). One user completes it and the others do not, so whether that client is available to your other users is a question for your Lucid administrators or Lucid Support. Once a user completes the authorization, their requests succeed, as they now do for the user who has authorized.
Not sure what to do in Lucid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Fred
