Is it safe to delete users that have Editor stats?

I just delicensed a user that was a contractor.  He had no activity in the system and so no need to transfer content to another user.
I then tried to delete the same user and now its saying he was the editor of 85 documents?? Is it safe to delete him?

Yes, you can absolutely delete that user and it will not affect the documents this user edited. As you can see on the screenshot you shared, that user owns no documents. And even so, when a user who owns/created documents is being delicensed or deleted on an Enterprise account, having their documents transferred is a mandatory step.
