Inserting photos into an org chart in Lucidchart is not working

I custom made an org chart with photos last week. Today I am trying to add more photos and I’m not able to. Is there a photo shape I should be using?

Thanks for your post! There are different ways to add images to employee shapes:

You can import images with your dataset. If you’ve uploaded a Google Sheets dataset to generate your org chart, you can update the images in that file and then refresh your dataset to automatically apply changes from the linked Google Sheet to the Lucidchart org chart. You can find the steps in the Manage data section of our Create an Org Chart Help Center article.
You can upload photos from your computer. You can find the steps in the Add photos section of our Create an Org Chart Help Center.
You can drag and drop a downloaded image onto a selected employee shape. This will allow you to add one image at a time.
You can add an image URL to an individual employee shape. You can also find the steps in the Add photos section of our Create an Org Chart Help Center.

☝ Please note: The images URL must be from a public location or they won't display properly. If you are using Google Drive links they must be public links.

Hi Flavia D,

I have the same problem...

I managed to upload 13 photos to my org chart but have problems to upload the last 9 photos of team members.

I checked the storage space - available

the size of the photos - matching to the others I already uploaded

and I switched between the different ways of uploading methods.

It is not working.

I would be grateful for help as it is really frustrating.

I’m also experiencing problems adding photos and modifying an existing OrgChart. Under the Layout tab, the Remove Photos control works. However, the Upload New Photo control does not work any longer. The upload dialog never appears.

Hi @ToddWatson, thanks for continuing this post! To confirm, are you referring to this ‘upload new photo’ button? If so, did you click on the text or the upload icon to the right?

If you clicked the icon but the upload dialog doesn’t appear, it could be related to your browser settings. Could you please try this in an incognito window and let me know how you go?

Thanks @Leianne C . The problem occurred when clicking on the icon - it appeared to not work. However, after several days of not working, I tried it again this morning (same browser, same file). Clicking the icon is again working to raise the file selection dialog.
