A scrum master colleague is importing Epics into a Dynamic table on Lucidspark. He would like to know if there's a way to add a 15 minute update to the JQL filter? This is required as, in his opinion, the auto sync feature between Lucid and Jira is currently unreliable in Lucid. He has had to manually re-add my sprint dynamic table. With viewing my Epics, this will be too much as I have over a hundred issues to manually add. Can someone help him out please?

Hi @Ness Wardle

Thanks for your post! To clarify, your ask is that the auto sync feature doesn’t update for 15 minutes?

Hi @Kelsey Gaag  - thanks for your response - he wants to be able to fix the need for him to have to re-add the sprint dynamic table as it is too time consuming to so this manually. He feels the auto sync in current use between JIRA and Lucid is not too reliable.

Hi @Ness Wardle

Thanks for adding that context! To be sure that I am understanding,  the issue your colleague is facing is they have to completely recreate a sprint dynamic table because of an issue with the Jira bidirectional sync? Is that correct?

Feel free to tag or send this post to your colleague and we can assist him with the issue in the thread as well. 😊

@Kelsey Gaag

Reading through the threads I think that I can help provide some clarification here.

Currently there doesn’t appear to be a timing sync process which can be manipulated between Lucid and Jira. Sometimes an adjustment in Jira shows up quickly in Lucid - other times it takes hours. It’s very inconsistent in my experience. The user with the question is asking for some consistency because it’s hard to rely on Lucid when you can’t be certain that the data is up to date. For this reason I use the Jira integration for refinement sessions and long term planning - but not sprint planning or sprint monitoring because the timing is unreliable.

I’ve tried refreshing the browser - doesn’t force a sync.

I’ve tried using the dynamic toolbar - you can get to the sync button but it’s not available for selection unless you’re entering a new query.

I’ve tried changing a Jira card value - that syncs that card specifically but it doesn’t trigger a sync for the entire dynamic table.

Here’s an example - a quick jql query into a dynamic table with just a couple cards.

Using Lucid - I’ll click on the card which will open Jira.

I’ll change the card status in Jira - it will not update the Jira card in Lucid.

I’ll refresh the browser - it will not update the Jira card in Lucid.

I’ll change the priority status on another card - that will not update the original Jira card in Lucid.

I’ll change the priority of the original card - that WILL cause a sync and it will move the card in the dynamic table.

Going through various processes to generate a sync with change made in Jira

Now, if I wait some unknown time period - it will eventually sync on its own - but I can’t trust what I’m seeing in Lucid is actually valid.

Having the ability to manipulate a timing such as every 5 minutes or 15 or 30. And/Or having the ability to manually force all cards to sync within the dynamic table.  I haven’t found a way to do either.  Therefore I don’t use Lucid for sprint level planning/monitoring as I can’t trust the data is valid in Lucid.

Thanks,

Rick

One more thought - closing the browser/document. Re-opening doesn’t trigger a sync either.

Hi @Rickajr

Thank you for clarifying and providing context to help my understanding! For you both, can you verify that your Jira Cloud was set up by an admin? Jira Data Center can only be set up by an account administrator. Jira Cloud does not require admin set up, but we do recommend that an admin sets it up to improve the syncing experience. Instructions for enabling the Jira cloud instance and Jira Lucid cards can be found here.
