Hello!

We are in the process of undergoing a domain change and I wanted to reach out to try to find the best practices for this process. We will be changing all of our active users usersnames in our SSO provider to a new domain and want to be sure that we follow the recommended approach for Lucid before we begin. Is there any process or documentation that can be provided to us for this?

Thanks!

Hi @ISAAC PARLE, thank you for posting in the community! When changing domains, you will need to update the email address associated with your users on the Lucid end to ensure that the correct user in your IdP maps to the correct Lucid user after the changes. If the UPN does not match the user's email address in Lucid, signing in through SAML will not direct the user to the correct Lucid account and this could result in accidental creation of a new user under the updated email address.

You can update user emails individually via the Lucid Admin Panel, as outlined here in our Help Centre. Enabling SCIM would also allow you to do this in bulk from your IdP.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Hey Leianne,

I apologize for my lack of clarity on my original request: we do have SCIM enabled. When testing with a test user and changing the user’s domain in our IDP (Okta), a new user was created for this new domain in Lucidchart. The test user lost access to the diagrams they had previously created while operating under the initial domain and there are now two user active in Lucidchart, one with the user’s diagrams that is inaccessible from Okta, and a fresh account that is accessible for the user via Okta.

Hi @ISAAC PARLE, thank you for clarifying! I’m converting this to a private support ticket so the right team can take a closer look. You will receive an email with further communication.

If you don’t receive an email please feel free to reach out in the thread below.
