I have a LucidChart Team. In that team, I have setup some people as Managers (in the Manage Team Members dialog on the Team home page). Within that team site, a couple of folders down, there is a diagram that those Managers can open, but cannot edit. I verified that there is no one on the diagram’s Sharing Options list (other than the team) and no one on the parent and grandparent folder’s Sharing Options list (other than the team). Why can my Team Managers not edit Team docs?

Hi @Timothy.Potter8

Lucidchart Team Managers do not automatically have edit access to all team documents. Document access is still controlled by explicit folder- and document-level sharing permissions, and manager status does not override those rules.

In this case, the issue is likely that the team (or managers) only have view-level access on the folder containing the diagram, even if no individual users are listed.

Kindly check the below pointers to ensure it is all aligned,

  • Check on the diagram and select Share-> Manage collaborators

  • Verify the Team entry exists and is set to Can edit or Edit and share

  • Check parent folders to ensure edit permissions are correctly inherited

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!

Never mind. BTW: This is on a corporate account. Turns out that LucidChart allows me to add people to a Team as a Manager when they don’t have a license and it does not notify me that they are not licensed. For those people, they could view and/or comment in the diagrams, but could not edit and it was not super obvious to them why they could not edit. We finally figured out that they did not have licenses and they got licenses and can now edit. Thanks.
