Hi Kelly
Thanks for posting in the Lucidchart Community! External links or links to email will remain active and should be clickable when exporting your document to PDF no matter if the file is open in a MAC or PC. If the those links types are not working I’d recommend following these troubleshooting steps to make sure that everything is in order on that front. I'd also recommend taking a look at the Actions (Links) and Hotspots article from the Lucidchart Help Center for going over the details on how to include links in your documents. If the issue persists this is likely a document specific issue so please send the specific information and screenshots of your trouble to support@lucidchart.com. Hope this helps!
I have the same issue. When exporting to pdf with a link to a local file (PDF), the link looks really strange, and doesnt open at all.
It is essential that we solve this problem, as the task is critical for our choice as Lucid for this particular task.
Hi @Michaelmoelmer, thank you for posting your question in the Lucid Community! Please note that links will work only if you export your document as a PDF, but not with any other file type. If you publish your Lucid document as a URL, every type of Action or link will work. If you publish your document as a PDF, links will work, but Actions such as toggling layers and conditional formatting will not.
Would you mind attempting the following steps first and confirming whether these resolve the problem?
- Can you try re-exporting your Lucid document as a PDF in a private or incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post.
- Could you also try re-exporting your Lucid document as a PDF while connected to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)? Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility.
If those don’t resolve the problem, can you please send the following information so I can take a closer look?
- Can you confirm whether this is a Lucidchart or Lucidspark document?
- Is this happening across multiple exports, or just the one?
- Can you please provide a screenshot of the faulty link within your exported PDF, or perhaps provide me with a detailed description of how it looks strange?
- Is the faulty link on the exported document attached to a shape or image within your Lucid file? Is it an embedded file?
- Can you provide me with a description of the download settings (document pages, cropping, quality, etc.) that you selected for the download?
