Currently, the track wheel controls the zoom, but I want it to control the movement of the desktop -to allow vertical and horizontal scrolling.

Hi @Newmedical,

It sounds like your canvas navigation isn't quite matching your workflow. To make sure we find the right fix, could you clarify what hardware you’re using? Specifically, are you using a physical mouse with a scroll wheel, or are you on a laptop trackpad? Lucidchart often auto-detects your device, but if it's misidentifying a mouse as a trackpad, your scrolling will feel "stuck" on zoom.

If you want to change this immediately, you can manually override the scroll-to-zoom behavior by navigating to the View menu at the top of your editor and hovering over Navigation Mode. Even if you are using a physical mouse, selecting the Trackpad option will rebind your wheel to scroll the canvas vertically instead of zooming.

If you choose this mode, you can move horizontally by holding Shift while scrolling. If you are on a PC, you can zoom by holding Ctrl while scrolling, whereas on a Mac, you would hold the Command key instead. Alternatively, if you prefer to keep the default Mouse mode, you can still scroll the "desktop" by holding Shift + Ctrl + Scroll on a PC, or Shift + Command + Scroll on a Mac.

For more detailed instructions on tailoring these controls to your specific device, you can visit the Lucid Support page on Adjusting Document Settings and Navigation or review their Keyboard Shortcuts Guide for a full list of movement hotkeys.
