Shift all dates in a timeline and its subordinate objects by a certain amount

Hi Devin thanks for your post! Unfortunately both the timeline itself and any tasks placed within it are date-specific; there is not a "general" form to reuse or a way to shift all dates by a certain increment like a semester. I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes!

In order to reuse an existing timeline you'll need to manually change the due date for each task

as well as change the date range for the overall timeline.

However I can certainly understand the usefulness of shifting everything in an existing timeline in this case. If you're willing to share additional detail about what you'd like to see in this experience we'd love to hear more in this thread! 

Thank Micah. That makes sense for sure. I didn't expect there to be a way since nothing in the UI suggested there was. I'm trying out LucidSpark for communicating course sequencing to my students because Canvas is not the best for this. I think timelines in LucidSpark have a lot of potential here and I'd love it if you guys were willing to work with me on developing a university-centric solution.

So coming from higher-ed everything is based on semesters and weeks so it would be super helpful if

• I could just have the individual blocks within a timeline have an option of being associated with week 1 week 2 etc. instead of associated with date ranges.
• These weeks would obviously be associated with date ranges already but if the timeline tool could build out week numbers automatically based on the semester (timeline) start and end date that would be rad.
• Then if I could simply click on the timeline and give it a new start date and have everything within the timeline auto adjust to new dates (for blocks that are associated with date ranges instead of week numbers) as well as new week numbers (for blocks that are associated with week numbers) that would be very welcome.

Hey Devin this is excellent feedback and provides a lot of clarity - totally makes sense! I imagine a lot of other educators would find this useful too. 

For sure please let me know if you ever divert developer attention away from other tasks to implement it :)
