Setting the Confluence Plugin to default to the simple viewer

I've noticed that charts take a long time to load (>10s) on our confluence pages especially if we have more than one on the same page.  Eventually the plugin will present the option to view the chart in the "Simple Viewer" which is actually preferable 99% of the time.  Is it possible to set the Simple Viewer as the default loading option in the plugin?  It would save our team an immense amount of headache when we're reviewing many designs one after the other.

  1. If you want to change characteristics of the viewer click “properties” and enter changes in width height alignment update method visible page-range or viewer type.

  2. “Save” your changes click the blue “Save” button and your diagram will load to the Confluence page.

Hopefully this helps!

Thanks Karsten.  This is good for updating on a chart by chart basis but is there any way to set this as the default for all charts?

Hi Sean. You should be able to set the default to simple viewer but it may be a functionality that only the admin can change. In this article it details under Confluence Server > Basic and Dynamic Rich Viewer that as long as Rich Viewer isn't enabled your document should load as simple viewer.
