I have used the "Repace Dataset" feature to upload new spreadsheet information. I can see that the new data appears correctly but the rules for adding icons are not updating.

I would recommend checking the icon formatting rules in your document. Check out this article for information on icons and conditional formatting: Conditional Formatting and Icon Sets
If you are unable to find the broken ruleset could you post a couple screenshots of the rules and the effected shapes?
