It sounds like you're familiar with how to work with Shape Options but I'm including the complete list of steps for others who may have this question as well.

To set a Default Shape Style:

1. Select a shape.


2. Click the Shape Options icon in the formatting toolbar.


3. Set the Rounded option to 0 px.
   
   


4. Right click the shape.


5. Select Set Default Style.
   

Now when you pull a shape from the Shapes menu it will automatically have the square corners.
