referencing shapes

Is there a way to reference a shape by name or some other identifier? I want to allow an end user to either link to a shape on another page of the same document or to another document's page and a specific shape on that page.

Another use would be to send an email with a reference to the document page and shape from which the email was originated. This would assist a help desk in knowing where in a troubleshooting process the user was when they decided to initiate a help desk email.

This is an excellent use case for Lucidchart.   You can use a hotspot to link to external links internal pages on a doc emails or have it perform actions like showing/hiding layers.  If you wanted to track which link users came from you could simply use a trackable link from any number of providers. See the below screenshot for some context on hotspots and of course let us know if you have further questions.
