Hi @rowan.smith
Kindly give a try by grouping the arrow and its text before adding it to the custom shape library. Select both the arrow and text, right-click, and choose ->Group.
double tapped on the arrow which adds a placeholder “text”
changed the sample text to something e.g. “text”
drag the mouse around the arrow to select all
right click the selected arrow
there is no option to group, unlike when you select multiple items. (see screen shot)
I think arrows and their text are already grouped.
Hi @rowan.smith
Thanks for the update, let me try to find what else we can do on this.
Regards
Hi @rowan.smith, thank you for posting your question in the Lucid Community! Thank you @Humas1985 for your insights and first steps here!
@rowan.smith I’ve been able to reproduce this on my end too. This seems like odd behavior, and I am checking internally to verify if this is a bug. I sincerely apologize for any disruption this might cause. I will update you on this thread as soon as I have more information!
In the meantime, are you able to see your custom shape when you hover over it in your custom shape library as shown below? Are you able to still drag the arrow with text from your custom shape library onto your board?
Hi @Humas1985 yes, as per your screen recording I can see the arrow (with text) when hovering over and I can drag the arrow onto the chart - it is just the preview that isn’t working.
Hi @rowan.smith, Thank you for getting back to me and confirming that. It appears that you have indeed identified a bug. I have reported this to our development team. I apologize for any disruption this may cause, and I will update this thread with any new information about a fix.
In the meantime as a workaround, you may need to continue to hover your cursor over shapes within your custom shape libraries to see the preview. I know this is not an ideal experience, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience here.
Please follow along on this thread for updates, and post any additional questions or concerns below.
Thank you. I also noticed that when you use the arrow from the shape library it doesn’t inherit the default page style - it just keeps the style that the arrow had when added to the library.
Hi @rowan.smith, Standard shapes will inherit the default page style when dragged into the canvas, but shapes within your custom shape library menu are intended to keep their original styles.
To quickly paste style, you can copy/paste the style to a selected group of shapes as shown below.
Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Hey @Ambar D I noticed that the shape library issue is other custom shapes too
Hi @rowan.smith, thank you for adding this comment with that additional detail! Unfortunately, this bug does appear to be affecting multiple different types of shapes that are uploaded into the custom shapes library. I’ve added your screen recording and comment here to the report for our developers to continue investigating.
I apologize for the inconvenience this causes, and I will update you here as soon as I hear back about a fix. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns in the meantime.
I’ve also ran into the issue. Looks to be the same problem. If they just use the same image as the hover preview, then maybe that would fix it?
Hi @ben-diagrammin-alot, thank you for adding to this thread with your experience here. It does appear to be the same bug and I am adding your comment here to the report for the development team.
This is still actively being worked on by our engineering teams and I will update you here as soon as I hear back about a fix. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
