In my ERD diagram, where the Entity Type object is used, I am using a custom font. Every time I import the new data to the data model diagram, the data type field in the Entity Type objects resets to Inter font. I need to manually change the font back to my custom font.

Hi @santhanalakshmi, thanks you for your post!

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, please review our ERD article from the Lucid Help Center. This article covers information on how to make updates to an existing ERD and you will be prompted to select one of the options below:

  • No, toolbox only: to only update the data in the toolbox
  • Yes: to update both the toolbox and the existing shapes on the document.

Does selecting either of these options resolve the issue?

If the issue persists, please send the following information:

- Can you provide a screenshot of the issue?
- What are the steps you are taking to update the data on your existing ERD?
- Did you try both of the prompted selections mentioned above? if so, what was the result of both?

Thanks for your help and patience!

Hi @Zuzia S ,

I used the option “Yes”, to update both the toolbox and the existing shapes on the document, in which case the font of the datatype column is reset to Inter instead of my custom font <Masked Value because of confidentiality> Centra. Let’s call it Centra from now on.

Here are the screenshots of this scenario with a detailed explanation of the steps I followed :

Before the change, the status of the data model looked like this. The custom font Centra is applied.

Now the data is re-imported with an addition of column “New Column” to the  features table.
I am selecting the option: Yes, to update both the toolbox and the existing shapes on the document when importing the data. As highlighted in the image below in red, the data type column’s font alone is reset to default Inter while the column name font setting stays intact with the Centra font. You can clearly see the difference with the highlight below.

Now I am adding an another column New Column 2 to the feature table and re-importing the data.
With the option : No, toolbox only while importing. for testing,I dragged and dropped the table to see how it works. I see the font I expect Centra is applied for the table but Lucid shows it as Inter font as applied wrongly. While the new table is being shown as Inter font applied, the older table font settings remains intact with the Centra font.

For our use case, we rarely use “No, toolbox only” option while our majority of work revolves around “Yes” settings. We have a very big data model with 28 tables and because of this, I need to change the font settings again for all the tables.

Once we import the data, the font for the data type column resets to “Inter” and it doesn’t stop there. While I select the table and select the Centra font again, I see no change, I need to change the font size as well to get the table font settings back to original.

Changing the font size to 10 to get the font settings as we expect

Let me know if you need further info on this. Requesting you to resolve this bug at the earliest.

@santhanalakshmi thank you for following up with this information! I am discussing the matter internally with our engineers and will get back to you shortly.

I appreciate your help and patience, and please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns in the meantime!
