I have a very large org chart. When I go to export it, it shows up as a square blank page in the preview. If I export it, I get a PDF that is 5080x5080mm and a warning that it exceeds the maximum page size. The chart itself in Lucid is just under 30000mm.

I tried duplicating the page to see if that would fix it, but the chart doesn’t even display on that page. I can zoom in and out as I can see the scroll bar changing size, but the page is blank. I tried it in an InPrivate window (we can only use Edge) and this page of the document wouldn’t display at all.

It’s been working fine for a month or so. I did have this same issue earlier but got around it by putting a second copy of the data on the same page and rolling up half of it on each copy so they were one under the other, as I suspected the length of it might have been the issue. This time around I can’t fix it.

I played around and saw that you can turn off infinite canvas and specify a page size. I did this to 317cm x 80cm which was enough to fit the chart. Doing this allows export. However if in the export window I choose “crop to content” I get the big white square box without the content again.

Hi @Andrew B105

Lucid is optimized for use in Chrome. Can you please try exporting your document using the Chrome browser? Can you also send a temporary Support PIN for this document? This will allow me to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing. For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article.

Thanks!

Thank you: I have sent you a support PIN. I don’t currently have a browser other than Edge on my work machine due to IT policies, but I’ve requested Chrome now.

As of today I can duplicate the page and it shows up. I changed it back to infinite canvas and the export was a blank square again, and when I turned it off the canvas wasn’t back to the page size: it was huge with my org chart down in the bottom right corner. The export is still the blank square. Hopefully Chrome will work...

Ahh OK turning off auto tiling fixed that last problem, that must have turned on when I selected infinite canvas.

Hi @Andrew B105

Thanks for your response! The document you are trying to export is very large. There are several factors that can have an influence on the performance of a document (e.g. number of shapes and detail, number of pages, document size). When a a document is very large or contains a large number of pages and shapes performance may decline.
Since your canvas is sized explicitly to fit your org chart, you do not need to use the ‘Crop to Content’ option. Using ‘Custom Crop’ and ‘Full Canvas’, I was able to successfully export your document. Can you please try using these options to export your document?

To read more about exporting a document, check out our Export or print a Lucid document article.

Thanks!

I’m able to export the document as long as I have “infinite canvas” and “auto tiling” turned off. You were able to export the document as these things were turned off, but as soon as you turn infinite canvas on again the problem returns. This is the same in both Edge and Chrome, which I tested this morning. It’s a bug by the look of it. The org chart gets to a certain size, and then export with infinite canvas stops working.

Hi @Andrew B105

Thanks for bringing that to my attention! Looks like this issue is related to the size of your document. For improved results, you could try splitting up your document into a few smaller documents. If you would like to keep the document in it current state, please export the document with infinite canvas toggled off. This will give you the same results when exporting.

Thanks!
