I was wondering how many people can collaborate on a single document on the free version.

Hi Alan thanks for posting! With a Free account there is no specific limitation to the number of collaborators you can have on a document. However collaborators on lower-level account types will be limited to view-only access if the document contains premium features. For more information about the features available to each account level please see our Lucidchart plan types article.
