We had one generic license under which a number of documents for different areas were created. Now we have 20 licenses and want to 'move' some of the documents from the generic license to the individual's under each area. If we share then we cannot delete the document from the generic license because then it will delete it from the person we shared it with. Really we want to move a document not share it. Is that possible?
Hi Loretta
Thanks for posting! There are several ways for transferring documents.
Another option is to share your documents from your generic license account to the individual's account. The shared document will still be under the ownership of your generic licence account however if you make a copy of the shared document in the individual account then the individual account will own the copied version of the document. Then you will be able to delete the original document. You can copy documents by clicking the three dot menu on the document and choose "Make a Copy". Let me know if you have any further questions!
Thanks. I think your recommended method of having the individual account copy the shared document is probably the best way to proceed. Once all new owners make copies of the shared documents we can delete them from the original generic account.
