I am new to Lucidchart. When I drag and drop a shape from the shape library how do I modify or delete the shape description that comes with it. For example when drag and drop a shape for a cone roof tank it comes with a description "cone roof tank" . How do I edit that description to read "API Bolted Tank" and position it at the top of the shape instead of bottom of the shape.

Hi Rolando thanks for posting in the Lucidchart Community! Please follow these steps to add text to the top of the cone roof tank shape:



  1. Double click in the current text to select it.

  2. Press "return" to delete the text.

  3. Add a text box from the standard shapes and align it to the top of the shape.

  4. Add your text to the text box.

  5. Select the shape and the text box and group them via right click>group.
