Hi All

Today I needed to use Lucidchart to create a mindmap.  As a result I thought I would use the Mindmap template.  Having then used that I found the product not to be that intuative on adding new ideas without just copy and pasting the shape and the line again.

I also noticed that the template created itself in Lucidspark rather than Lucidchart.

I may be not the most complitent user of the product but is there a more intuative way to add ideas?  Also is there something being worked on which tells the user that you have jumped into a seperate area of the product than Lucidchart?

Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee

Thanks for posting in the Community.

You can browse all Lucidchart templates here and all Lucidspark templates here

If you use mind maps on Lucidchart you will be able to use the following hotkeys to build and navigate your mind map:

  • Tab: Create child idea

  • Enter: Create sibling idea

  • Arrow Keys: Navigate through your mind map

  • Z: Collapse or expand children of a parent node

For more information please review our Lucidchart Mind Maps Help Article.

Note that these hotkeys are only available in Lucidchart! In Lucidspark you would need to manually create child and sibling ideas and you won't be able to navigate your mind map with the arrow keys or use the Z key to collapse or expand children ideas.

Let us know if you have any questions!
