Mind Mapping: How do I move a shape without moving everything else?

I saw the previous post by the same question title but cannot follow the answer that was given (below). I couldn't find your "basic shapes" library. And from a user perspective shouldn't a function exist that allows the user the option to choose whether they want to move the shape or the entire diagram? Seems that would be far more user-friendly than having to redo an entire map with new shapes.

Thanks for reaching out! When using our mind map shapes all children shape will move when you move a parent shape. I apologize for any trouble this is causing you! If you would like to move a parent shape independent from its children I recommend using a different shape library such as our basic shapes. I hope this helps!

Thanks for posting in the community and sorry for the difficulty you're experiencing in Lucidchart. Our basic shapes library can be found in the Shapes menu when you open a new document.

If you cannot see this library you can find it by clicking +Shapes and searching for Geometric Shapes.

If you would like the ability to move shapes within mind maps freely please consider adding your idea to our feature request form!
