I want to share a Lucid Chart with guest collaborators, but when they try to adjust te board, they get the message that they are out of free shapes (60). Is there any way to grant them - for the specific shared board - access to alter the Lucid Chart, even when there are more than 60 shapes in the document?

Hi - I hope that you are Doing good !!

Am sure - Shapes available to guest collaborators is limited to 60 in the free version
Consider upgrading to a paid plan in Lucidchart that offers more features and allows for more shapes in documents

Hope this helps

Thank you very much and have a fantastic day!
Warm regards

Hi Huma, thanks for the response! We already have a paid plan (team). However, guest collaborators still get the message that they are out of free shapes. So I can add shapes as the owner, yet guest collaborators cannot. Is that normal?

Hey @Erfgoed IGEMO -- thanks for the post and reply and big shoutout to @Humas1985 for the early jump on this one!

To answer the most recent question, yes, this is normal behavior for Guest Collaborators. Guest Collaborators have the same access as a Free user without having to register for an account. This limits them somewhat in shape count, feature availability, downloading, and sharing the document. You can learn more about that here

I hope this helps answer your questions -- please let me know if it doesn’t, I’d be happy to look into this further!

Hi,

I am also experiencing this issue. I believe my company is on the Teams license for LucidSpark.

I looked at the article you posted above to try and learn more but unless I'm missing it, I can't see anything in that article that talks about a shapes limit for Guest collaborators. Instead, I see a YES for shapes in that column, but no mention of limits.

What do you need to do/upgrade to in order to allow your team to be collaborators and add unlimited shapes?

Hi @jspurr, thanks for adding to this thread! Would you mind sending me a screenshot of the error message that you are receiving so I can take a closer look?

This is the message one of my cowokers got when they accessed the LucidSpark board.
However, prior to this my team were collaborating on the board in LucidChart, when everyone got a pop-up at the same time saying that they've reached their shapes limit (I don't have a screenshot of that one). So I'm unable to collaborate with the team on either LucidChart or LucidSpark. I believe we have a Team level subscription for both.

Hi @jspurr, thanks for sharing that screenshot! This pop-up appears for users who are accessing a document as a free user, rather than a Guest Collaborator. Can you ensure that the link is configured for Anyone with the link in the Share menu? Also, can you confirm if you are logged into a registered Lucid account when you access the document by clicking the profile icon in the top right corner of the canvas?

It is worth noting that you can close this pop-up to continue your work by clicking the X in the top right corner. Do you encounter any errors when working in your document after you close this pop-up?

Additionally, free users and Guest Collaborators now have access to an unlimited an object count in Lucidspark. However, there is still a 60 object limit for these users in Lucidchart. For more information about features available to Free and Premium users, you can reference our Lucidspark Plans article from the Lucid Help Center.

Hi Amelia,

You've helped me solve this!

I checked and I didn't have '’Anyone with the link'’ as an option in the Share menu, only '’Any logged in user'’. I believe this is because I originally created the board in Lucid Chart. I thought by clicking "edit the board in Lucid Spark" and resharing the link with the team it would fix the shapes issue but I see now why it didn't. So I created the board from scratch in Lucid Spark, and selected "Anyone with the link" and now the pop-up still appears but when the team close it, they can add new shapes onto the board, so we can collaborate again.

Thank you very much for your assistance!
Julia

@jspurr, I’m glad I could help and that you were able to get a new link generated! I apologize for the confusion there, please let me know if you have any further questions!
