I’m currently unable to upload photos into Lucidcharts.  When I drag and drop the images to upload into the “Import Employee Photos” window of my org chart, it doesn’t even show up in the upload screen.  I’ve cleared my internet cache and restarted my computer already.  Please fix this bug asap so that I am able to upload the photos into the org charts I am working on.  Thanks!

@hngo did you also try to upload the photos from File Explorer or the Finder? If that didn’t work either, you might want to check out the answer to this similar thread:

I am having this same issue! I just got access to LucidChart so it’s not possible that my storage is full. Please assist. This is a major roadblock to my work.

@aparrish I tried uploading from the Finder as well and it still didn’t work.  Both features for dragging and dropping the photos and uploading via Finder did not work.  This issue just started recently in the system.  I did view the article already, but it still doesn’t help the issue.

Could anyone from Lucid Support confirm if this uploading photos issue to the org charts has been resolved?

Hi @hngo take a look at the following loom and let me know if this is a valid workaround. Happy to help here. cc @amj_nyc

This method works for me; however, I am trying to upload headshots to the entire org chart, so that they will automatically match up. I’m not uploading directly to the individual shape. See screenshot below.

I’m experiencing the same issue for Upload Photos in bulk to the Org Chart.

@amj_nyc I submitted a support request. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi @hngo@Eric Padron, @amj_nyc

Taking a closer look, it appears you have identified a bug. This has been reported to our development team.

I apologize for any disruption this may cause, and I will update this thread with any new information about a fix. Please follow along on this thread for updates, and post any additional questions or concerns below.

Hi @Ambar D, thank for sending this issue to your Development team.  Sounds good, looking forward to receiving your update on this resolution.

Hi @hngo, thanks for your response! I am sorry for any disruptions this causes. I will update this thread as soon as I have more information regarding a fix.

In the meantime, please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Any update on how this fix is coming along?

Hi @amj_nyc,

Unfortunately, I do not have an update to provide at this moment. I will update this thread with as soon as I have more information about a fix. I truly apologize for any disruption this may cause, and I would like to do all I can to help you continue your work.

While I know this may not be ideal, as a workaround in the meantime, I recommend uploading new photos for each individual employee shape instead of bulk uploading them to the overall Org chart. To do this, select a employee cell and click "Upload new photo". This should allow you to replace or upload an employee photo. For more information, please see our Create an org chart help center article.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Hi, is this the only workaround for this issue? I produce Org charts for our Company for around 200 employees and bulk upload photos every month. Photos are all named so they are automatically matched to the employee on the chart. To do this individually for each employee would be a huge amount of work...Can we get a time frame as to when they expect to fix this issue, it has been working perfectly for the last 4 years I’ve been using it so cannot understand why it has suddenly stopped working.

thank you

Hi @Jonathan.Downs, I certainly understand the inconvenience this causes and truly apologize for the disruption to your work. I unfortunately do not have a timeline to provide at this time, but I can confirm that our development team is actively working on this. I will update this thread with any new information about a fix.

In the meantime, another possible workaround is to import with a dataset from a Google sheet, Excel file, or CSV. Please let me know if you experience any issues with that or have further questions regarding the functionality.

Please follow along this thread for updates and post any additional questions or concerns in the thread below.

My process is the same as @Jonathan.Downs as well.  I need to be able to bulk upload the photos for the whole organization and uploading one by one will not work for me.

@Ambar D Could you help ensure the Development team expedites the fix for this issue?  My org chart process is now on hold until this issue is fixed.

Same, and this import with a dataset solution does not fix the issue.

Can you escalate this issue @Ambar D ? I just started my subscription to LucidCharts, and this functionality was critical to selecting this software over Visio and other alternatives.

I already use the ‘import with a dataset’ functionality to pull in all employee data, names, departments, e-mail etc. I then bulk upload the photos.

I have added a column to every employee record in the data set to include the image url and then uploaded the data. None of the photos are displayed in the org chart. I’ve also tried saving the employee photos to my desktop and then copying the url’s for these to the excel dataset and this doesn’t work either!!

The only thing that appears to work presently is manually uploading a single photo at a time, which, with over 200 employees on the org chart is not a practical workaround!!!

Hi @hngo, @amj_nyc, and @Jonathan.Downs

I have escalated this issue with our development team. While I cannot provide a timeline at this moment, I can confirm that our engineering team is urgently looking into this and is currently actively working on a resolution.

I sincerely apologize for the disruption to your work and I apologize that the available workarounds do not help.

As soon as I hear an update from the development team, I will update this thread with any new information about a fix. Please follow along on this thread for updates, and post any additional questions or concerns below.

Thank you @Ambar D

Just FYI, I’ve found that you can fairly easily update an individual employee photo on the org chart without having to go through the process of selecting the employee then the menu options shape style - upload new photo every time. You can ‘drag and drop’ an individual photo from your folder location onto the employee and it will update the employee on the org chart automatically. It’s a fairly quick process, I’ve managed to complete my org charts in about 20 minutes :-)

Hi @Jonathan.Downs, thank you for letting me know! I am happy to hear that dragging and dropping the images into your org chart has helped to save at least a bit of time while this is being resolved.

I will provide an update via this thread as soon as the issue is resolved. In the meantime, please let me know if you have further questions or concerns.

Hi @hngo, @amj_nyc, @Eric Padron, @Jonathan.Downs

Good news! I just heard back from our development team and it seems that this has been resolved.

If you continue to experience problems, please let us know right away using this thread. Thank you for your help and patience.

Amazing!

Hi @Ambar D, thanks for the great news!  Really appreciate your help on this.  It works for me now.  Thanks again!
