If you are using the free version of Lucidchart can you collaborate with other users in real-time on a document? My students created accounts this week and I wanted them to work in pairs on a mind map but when they share it only one student has editing access. The other has comment only access even though both students have permission to edit in the sharing settings. (I requested an educational upgrade but I would like to know if it is possible for us to use Lucidchart for real-time collaboration before that takes effect.)
Hi Dana-
Thanks for reaching out on the community! Free account users have the ability to use the real-time collaboration feature. There are some limitations to using free accounts: three document limit 60 object limit per document 250 MB Storage and more. You can visit this webpage for more information about the differences between each type of account. Here is a helpful article about Collaborating and Sharing documents. Please read through this document and make sure your students are following all the different guidelines to working together on the same document. I hope this helps! Thanks!
Is there any limitation if I share with editing permission to my team that already have free license? I have the full license. They can see the document but they can't participate editing it. Thanks.
Hi
Thank you for your post! User’s on a free license will have limited access to features on documents you share with them. Even though you are on a premium license, their subscription will cause limitations. You can see what limitations they have in this Help Center article. It’s possible your document exceeds the 60 object limit for free accounts, which would prevent them from being able to edit. Can you verify that they have editing access in the share settings?
If you could you provide a screenshot of the error message the free user is seeing when trying to edit your document, I can provide some more context into why they are unable to edit. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
