I have Lucidchart shapes with Custom Data. When editing a field’s data I cannot insert a line break using the standard shortcut of Command+Enter. I can copy/paste a line break character in from outside the app.

How can I insert a line break into shape Custom Data without copying and pasting on MacOS?

Hi Derek.  Does shift + enter work for you?

Unfortunately it does not. Every combination of modifier keys with enter I’ve tried are just treated as a submission of data in the field.

Hi @Derek H, thank you for posting in the community! I’d love to take a closer look at what you’re experiencing. If possible, would you mind sharing a screenshot of where you’re trying to add a line break to? Please feel free to censor out any important information. Thanks!

Hi @Leianne C . Sure, attached are a couple images depicting what we are using (custom shape data, and variable references like ‘{{=this."Prompt Verbiage"}}’ in the text element of the shape to display that data). The only way to get the line breaks in the “Prompt Verbiage” of the second image is to copy/paste them in from another source. I can’t use standard keyboard hotkeys to add one directly in the field.
