Thank you for posting in the Community! When you created your new org chart did you import any data? The “inherited from org chart,” probably came from someone linking data in the old chart. 

I started with an old chart, and that doesn’t appear to have those options either. The chart is linked to Excel data though: I can use the “Replace Dataset” function to update it.

Would I need to start again with a fresh import and reformat to get the tier and number of reports data in there?

Not sure why this is empty, and I can’t work out how to link data to it. I can’t drag the existing org chart onto it, but I can’t drag the Excel file onto it either.

Thank you for the reply! If the previous chart was linked to Excel, you can access and download this data by going to the Data Linking Panel > Manage Data > Download as CSV.

Then, to link the downloaded data in your new Org Chart, go to the Shapes Panel > Import Data > Org Chart. Let me know if this helps!

I gave this a go however it looks like the same result I would get by just importing the original Excel again. The issue is that I then have to manually re-apply all the formatting I did to the chart, the rules, and then also do a lot of manual re-ordering, none of which changes when you can just update the dataset.

In the end this is what I did, bit the bullet and started from a clean import!

Thank you for the reply! I am sorry that you had to manually re-apply the settings and formatting. One option you mentioned earlier was to replace the data set,  were you able to try that option? Another idea I had was uploading the data via the data panel and dragging and dropping data into the Org chart manually.
