No matter what I change in the page and grid settings the giant boxes only get marginally smaller or larger but when I right click I can see the smaller grid boxes

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community and apologies for the trouble you're having here. Would you care to try this within an Incognito window. Could you also try toggling off WebGL by clicking View > WebGL. Could you also try this within a different browser and device.
