Hello I want to make a schematic diagram for a system I work with. The schematic lines would be black and white originally and then once I hover over or click on it then it displays a color on the entirety of the path between those two points. If possible I was aiming to export it as a pdf so it can be used in different places.

I would recommend looking into using conditional formatting.
While your lines would not change colour when you hover over them or click on them you could create formatting rule which would change the colour of your lines according to a predefined condition. Please take time time to review the document I linked above and let me know if you have any questions!
