How to get the size of shape in formula?

I want to create a property on a shape that changes based on the size of the shape. Effectively I want to be able to calculate things such as Area or Perimeter/Circumference.

Are there formulas that I can use to do this?

Just adding a note that this would be a great help; especially in sort of "visual work estimation sessions" where my team could resize boxes relative to each other and automatically tally up work estimates.
