Hi support team,

I’m currently designing an org chart for my company, which has about 1,000 employees. However, the company undergoes significant changes almost every month, such as department transfers, team shifts, promotions, etc.

I’m looking for suggestions on how to update the org chart efficiently when these changes happen. Ideally, I’d like a method that allows me to make updates quickly, such as by modifying a database, rather than manually dragging and dropping elements.

Any tips or tools that can help streamline this process would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi @Office Operation, thank you for posting your question in the Lucid Community!

For efficiently updating your org chart, Lucidchart offers several features to help streamline the process. You can use data integration to link your org chart to a spreadsheet or database (such as Google Sheets or Excel). By importing this data, your org chart will automatically update when the data changes. Lucidchart has built-in data linking features, which allow you to refresh the org chart with updated information.

Additionally, it's helpful to maintain a centralized database of employees and their roles, such as a CSV or Google Sheet with fields like "Employee Name," "Department," "Manager," and "Role." This makes it easy to import data and automatically adjust the org chart as needed.

Finally, consider leveraging templates and performing bulk updates to make changes to multiple entries at once, saving you from the need to manually adjust individual elements.
