We have SEVERAL Visio documents in one of our SharePoint sites that we would like to import to Lucid but I haven’t been able to figure out how to do that. Right now it seems the only option is for me to save each document to my hard drive and import them from there. I hope that isn’t the process.

Your observation is right.
Importing Visio documents from SharePoint into Lucid is not a direct process at this time.
