How can I export a Lucidchart image to the clipboard to paste into another application?

I frequently need to copy my diagrams to the clipboard and paste them into a document. The steps I take now are:

  1. Go to File > Export > PNG
  2. Use a screenshot tool to copy from the preview

Is there some simpler way? I feel I should be able to do this without relying on the screenshot tool.

Jumping into this conversation to share an additional tip - Lucidchart and Lucidspark both now support an option to select a portion or all of your diagram, right-click, and choose “Export selection.” From there, you’ll have several options for format - I understand this doesn’t attach it directly to your clipboard, but may be useful in your workflow!

Hey Joseph

Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! If you are exporting your diagram as a PNG you can then import that file into a document (such as Word or Docs) as an image. You could also check out our add-ons for Google and Microsoft as this would allow to upload your Lucidchart diagram directly into your documents.

Hope this helps--please reach out anytime with more questions! Cheers!

I’ll second the original requirements. I have previously used Miro and the lack of “Copy as image” feature in Lucidchart/Lucidspark is adding a lot of steps to my workflow. I often end up exporting a lot of material from the boards to PowerPoint or Word, and having to first export the material as files just ends up adding unnecessary file management into the process - especially when the downloaded files all have the same file name due to the material not being inside a frame or due to all the frames having the same name. And even when the frames have differing names, the resulting file names tend to be unnecessarily long and therefore difficult to identify quickly due to board and layer names being included in the file names before frame names.

I’d screenshot the material but that makes the quality inconsistent.
